About Dr. Keith Marcus
Dr. Marcus is an award winning surgeon and he received the highest honors for passing his Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Board Examination in the 99th percentile (2nd in the nation). He is an active member of the Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and has been honored to become a proctor for the annual Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Board Examination, held in Washington D.C. Dr. Marcus is the 2008 winner of the prestigious John Orlando Roe Award for his groundbreaking clinical research on facial fat augmentation; this award was bestowed by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His steadfast dedication to research and academia has continued through his tenure in private practice and he is currently on staff at several local hospitals and is affiliated with the USC Keck School of Medicine.
Background
Dr. Marcus is a Southern California native who grew up in Palos Verdes, a small suburb of Los Angeles. He embarked upon his undergraduate career at U.C. Berkeley and graduated with Honors. He furthered his medical interests by spending time in Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the USC School of Medicine and conducted clinical research at USC Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. After publishing clinical papers on his research, he pursued another academic degree at Georgetown University. He received a Master of Science in Physiology after intensive studies on the human body and its physiologic function.
Dr. Marcus subsequently attended medical school at the USC Keck School of Medicine and upon receiving his MD, was accepted into a highly competitive five year residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He completed his residency at the University of Michigan, a head and neck surgery program consistently regarded as one of the top few in the nation. Subsequently, Dr. Marcus was accepted into one of the most coveted facial plastic surgery fellowships in the world. |

He spent his entire fellowship focusing exclusively on cosmetic surgery of the face while participating in an additional opportunity to perform major trauma reconstructions at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Marcus is now practicing in sunny Southern California where he is the onsite medical director of Aesthetic Edge medical spa (www.aestheticedge.com) and has his own private practice, Marcus Facial Plastic Surgery (www.marcusfacialplastics.com).
Dr. Marcus is affiliated with the USC School of Medicine and when he isn’t working at Marcus Facial Plastic Surgery or at the USC Hospitals, he enjoys time outside. He is an avid runner, scuba diver and outdoorsman who has run several marathons, dived around the globe and skied or hiked throughout various parts of the United States and Canada. |
